MEDIUS Music Society together with Lidzbark Warminski Music School is pleased to invite for the 5th edition of the International Summer School of Early Music. The course will begin on Sunday, 2 August 2009 and will finish on Sunday, 9 August 2009. The main purpose of The International Summer School of Early Music is to perform significant vocal and instrumental music over the period of 17th and 18th century. The young musicians will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses, lectures and discussions related to interpretation of Early Music Performance. The main focus of the course will be the creation of the course orchestra. This will give students the opportunity to gain some practical experience, necessary for their future career. Singers will have a unique opportunity to work on the interesting repertoire and present themselves during the final concert. The course will culminate in a final concert performed by the orchestra created by, both – tutors and students. The final concert will take place at the Castle of Lidzbark Warmiński.
The period instruments (copies or originals) are the required instruments for the course. There will be also the possibility to borrow the right instrument for the course participants upon the early request.
